Brent A Saulic

Undergraduate in Industrial Design

Howdy, I am Brent,

I'm a pretty laid back person, with too many creative ambitions. I over-value knowledge and have a habit of over thinking things; but generally I go with the flow.

I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from East Kentwood High School in 2004. I completed a four year stint, and was discharged honorably from the U.S. Army, in February 2009. I've earned two associates degrees, and intend to earn my bachelors degree in Industrial Design and interdisciplinary studies (thank you GI Bill) .

Computers-hardware and software capable; intense knowledge in these regards. Well trained in graphic design, intelligence analysis, growing experience in Industrial design. Recently, I've been trying to garner experience managing design teams and project management.

I try to be extremely creative, and unconventional in my thinking. I tend to push through hard things by being persistent, and working hard, cranking out several iterations, refining my strategy.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food:
Tao Te Ching -- Lao tzu, - Taoist literature intrigues me to no end.
The Tao of Pooh.
Drive -- Daniel Pink
Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead, Anthem -- Ayn Rand
Jack London, Hemingway,
R.L. Stine

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Fountain, Gattica, Revolver, Inception, Planet of the Apes-original, Citizen Kane, Vanilla Sky, Predator, other great movies I can't remember off the top of my head. -- Science Fiction is the Best.

Meet the press, face the nation, Fora, PBS Nova, Frontline, 60 minutes, BBC news. I watch alot of news and politics, strategic political discourse, design studies. I was an analyst in the Army--predicting macro level social behavior, and spy craft interest me. Otherwise Star Trek, Star Gate, Kings(TV series), Law & order SVU, most Anime/manga cartoons like DragonBallZ and adultswim.

Anything creative and original. hiphop, rock, punk, techno, classical or other creative mixes. Outkast, Kanye, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeas", Queen, ect.

The six things I could never do without:
Digestion system
Circulatory system
The ability to walk.

I spend a lot of time thinking about:
Culture, Design, Science, Media, Sustainability, Philosophy, Scifi, Girls. Not necessarily in that order. Creative flutters pass through my consciousness often, instigating tons of creative thoughts and sometimes sublime action.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit:
I'm afraid of zombies and being digitized into the internet to play arena games.

I often pray to the magic spirits who reside in my laptop and underline words I spell incorrectly.
