Biography
Born and raised in the outskirts of a rural Ontario village, Emily Paige left in her mid-teens, eager to venture beyond the dirt roads and forests that surrounded her home.
Since then she has lived and worked on three
continents,
completed a Honours BA in Literature and Art History, and worked as a creative professional in organizations like the Banff New Media Institute at the Banff Centre, the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the Canadian Museums Association and the FOFA Gallery.
Currently, she is
Producer at a Webby Award winning animation company and is Director, Faculty of
Fine Arts on Concordia University’s Graduate
Students’ Association.
Emily has completed two international internships – one focusing on digital media tools and development in Burkina Faso, West Africa; the other exploring collaborative practice, media education, and youth empowerment in Khayamandi, South Africa.
As a MA candidate in Art Education, her research interests are in digital media, globalization, the creative economy, multi-modal literacy, community development, and pedagogical art practice.
She likes faeries, fashion and fantasizing about a future political career.
