Jihane Mossalim

Born in Montreal in 1984, I studied the Fine Arts at Dawson College as a mean of perfecting my skills to become a special effects make-up artist. After graduation I started working in the media industry for a few years, both as a SFX and beauty make-up artist. After the recent birth of my son I am taking some time off from the make-up world to concentrate on my paintings. I represent in my work another side to things, people, places; I like to go through people's family pictures and unveil something that was there all along but that we somehow missed or overlooked.
Things are not always what they seem especially in children, hidden things can easily be found if looked at through different angles and that's what I want to portray in my paintings.
