Kate has been privileged to work withwell-known Canadian choreographers and dance facilitators Susan Cash, CarolAnderson, David Earle, Dave Wilson, Susan Lee and international artists SasharZarif (Azerbaijan), Maxine Heppner (Athens), Bluemouth Inc. (New York) and artistTino Sehgal (Berlin). She has been featured in BravoFACT dance films SLIP (Yvonne Ng, Chelsea McMullan) andIndependent Beyond the Surface(Radek Pacanowski).

Asan emerging choreographer her much acclaimed choreographed work “Vanity Fair”was commissioned by York Dance Ensemble in 2008, being the first student to geta commission for the Ensemble in 8 years. Kate received two major awards, theIMASCO Performing Arts Award and the Spedding Memorial Award forDance/Choreography at York University. YorkUniversity magazine named her dance artist “destined for fame seen first atYorkU” in 2008. Since leaving York, Kate has shadowedseveral established artists in the Toronto’s dance community to pursue herinterest in choreography and dance production. She was rehearsal assistant andperformer for Toronto/ Athens based choreographer Maxine Heppner in the 100+performer community dance project KRIMA! performed both in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario. Mostrecently, she has been a rehearsal assistant to Heidi Strauss,artist-in-resident 2008-09, at Factory Theatre, and her work as it is and continues this role into2010.

Katepresented her first full-length work twentysomethings at Toronto’s Fringe Theatre Festival,July 2009. She has also presented at Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival,Nuit Blanche, and Dance Ontario’s International Dance Day. Kate recentlycompleted a choreography residency with Emerging Dance Artist Project atDancemakers.

Kate is a co-host for Canada’s national dance radio show, Evi-Dance andworks and writes for MERGE, zine for emerging dance artists. She is a boardmember for Dance Ontario and is on the Dance Umbrella of Ontario’s 2010Steering Committee for International Dance Day.
