Roger Davidson

I was born in Scotland and studied English literature and philosophy at Glasgow University. I made the transition from freelance writer to freelance illustrator after finding more enjoyment in doing illustrations for some of my own articles than in writing itself (though I love both). My work has appeared in several publications, including New Humanist, the National Post and the Ottawa Citizen. My influences are various, but Goya, Toulouse-Lautrec and James Gillray are my three artists with whom I have a particular fascination, and my combination of ink line drawing and loose acrylic brushstrokes hopefully reflects this. I live near Ottawa with my wife, Melanie, and my two cats, Basil and Babushka.
